Harpo2
Quote I'm guessing Feast of Bones is a new duel starter - so now taking bets on who the Ogors will be facing! Maybe new death army (since Death is getting a battletome and all of their armies have battletomes now) judging by the name (Feast of Bones sounds like army of skeletons). A new model especially designed for AoS is perfect. Honestly I'm really pleased to see Destruction get so much attention this time around. It's one Grand Alliance which has been the most ignored by GW for a long while so getting Gloomspite and now an updated Orruk and a basically all but confirmed Ogors Battletomes is fantastic. It basically will complete Destruction by the end of the year in terms of 2.0 support. Free Cities also takes a big BITE out of the Order 2.0 support needs and cleans up a lot of the armies that didn't even have a 1.0 battletome either. It makes if very probable that we will hit Christmas with all armies at least with a battletome and possibly only a handful using older battletomes.

Have you seen YouTube comments sections? I’d argue it’s sensible... I was refering to a period that ended a few years back when GW had zero communication and pretty much actively sought to destroy their online communities combined with relentless money-grubbing schemes which didn't particulary lend itself to folks having a "positive mindset" in the comment section.
EccentricCircle
This is all proving very cool. I genuinely didn't think that they'd roll all of the Orky factions into one tome. I thought that seemed unlikely given the factions that have stayed on their own in the other grand alliances. Now I'm kind of wishing they'd released a united Dwarven book, rather than just Fyreslayers! This would seem to make it much more likely that whatever happens with Ogres it could be a united book rather than two more battletomes to update. It certainly makes sense to have the rules spread out over a few broad factions as possible.

sandlemad
Dang that tyrant is brilliant. A colossal spear! Proportionate tusks on the gutplate! The old metal tyrant is still an incredible model but this guy rules. I'm digging out my ogres, that's it But do you know what's best about all this? "The Mawtribes hunger." Mawtribes. A new faction name. "Gutbusters" was hands down the stupidest name GW has ever come up with for anything. Whether Mawtribes is the replacement name or the term for an overarching Beastclaw/regular ogres battletome, anything which minimises Gutbusters as a term is genuinely more than I hoped for. And yes, I can easily see 'The Feast of Bones' being a battle between ogres (tyrant and then some combination of bulls, leadbelchers and the ironblaster/scraplauncher) vs... legions of Nagash, maybe, with some sort of new hero? There are a handful of bony rumour engines still to be solved. Edited July 20, 2019 by sandlemad too much cursing

This is where I don't mind soup battletomes. Beastclaw Raiders and Gutbusters were one army before. There are times when a division makes sense and times were a combination makes sense. For example I really liked that they divided Grots and Orruks from each other. Grots (or Goblins) were always just the henchmen of Orruks. Them being their own thing makes them even cooler and more special. Now they don't have to be the henchmen of Orruks. They are now their own faction with all kind of different creatures which live in caves and all hail the Bad Moon. But for Ogors it does make more sense to combine them with each other. There can still be different tribes with different backstories. But in the end they are all Ogors.
Overread
Esp since Beastclaw basically relies far too heavily on one kit to be most of the army variety. They are an ideal pairing and honestly the only pairing GW has done which isn't "traditional" is the Free Cities; but we don't yet fully know how that works yet. They might have hard lines like the Skaven Tome does. So a Dwarven army is all dwarves and nothing else etc... Whilst having a few combined options too. It will be a very interesting tome to see how it all works!

Sir Grimm
"Look closely, and you’ll see vials of potions, some kind of magical sword and even the faceplate of an unfortunate Stormcast Eternal adorning this model..." Guys the phrasing of the "some kind of magical sword" kinda itches me. It is very familiar design to me (as a Bretonnian player) and reminds me of the Questing Knight swords and the such. The special mention of that particular detail is making me feel hopeful for the future. Am I reading too much into this, or maybe some of you feel the same way? The_Yellow_Sign
Really hyped for Ogres and Free People! I strongly dislike the inclusion of the Stormcast in the book though. They should have just remained as allies.
AthlorianStoners
YES!!!! This has me so excited. I own 2000 points of Beastclaw Raiders and if they’re combined in one tome I’d be willing to drop money on at least another 2000.
Melcavuk
Interestingly "The Pact of Bones is Broken..." is their reason for marching to war now, perhaps Sigmar brokered an alliance in exchange for locking away an enemy of the Mawtribes, the recent necroquake may have set in motion evens that has them feeling this pact has not been honoured. My guess is you'll only be able to take the more baseline units that came at the start of AoS1. None of the spin-off, specialised chambers like Vanguard, Sacrosanct, etc. Basically those who're left behind to garrison a city.

They aren't in the book; there are options to take them as allies for some of the Free Cities forces, whilst others can take them without paying allies limits. It seems the Free Cities will be like a collection of smaller battletomes under one roof.

Chikout
So the two upcoming destruction battletomes would bring them up to date. Death is already up to to date. Chaos needs a 2.0 book for Tzeentch and a book for everchosen/ slaves to Darkness. Order needs Seraphon, KO and maybe some Aelves. There will probably be a few completely new battletomes, but getting fully up to date by the end of 2020 suddenly feels like a very reasonable prospect.
