When they launched the last starter set the core book was available separately. So as it stands I cannot play “dungeon rules” unless I read the transcribed rules online when they will be available or buy this box... Let’s hope in Broken Realms and see what the future is for the main game That’s a good point. I do expect it to happen though. Why else the separate boards? Fingers crossed that the warbands, new dungeon accessories ("scenery" that you can't really use in any other setting), and Catacombs book will be available on their own in a few months. I'll maybe pick up the board pack in the mean time. Maybe not. $55 is right on the edge. Likely I'll just skip it entirely and just pick up the Scions for regular Warcry games far down the road. Bummer, really. Was very much looking forward to this. Pre-covid I might have seen it on display in a store and been pulled into an impulse buy. Now, with the risks and lockdowns (yeah, I know, America ...), I won't have that exposure, so I'll wait. Very interested to read about others peoples' experiences, though! I was thinking I might get 2 of them at $160. Now at $210 GW isn’t getting anything from me.

I was refering to the ability to use them in AoS. While they seem to have rules, they seem a tad on the underpowered side. I had an idea for the Wild Hunt led by Orion, but I am not sure it would be fun to play against

Overread
I was surprised there was no mention of Warhammer Day in the week to come preview; though I'm sure we'll get some news in the week to come. It is also a 40K week, but a good one as its adding quite a few teased and hoped for things including the much sought after Forgeworld Compendium for all those 40K Forgeworld models! Marines get their bikes and some new support codex and there's a load of books including a comic book reprint in full colour and hardback which would likely be worth getting if you like such things. Eldarain
Definitely excited to get Bloodquest again. Regret selling my set. Now let's get a Darkblade reprint! Edited October 25, 2020 by Eldarain
cyrus
Codex and space marines were given as this week preorder. BR: Morathi and Shadow &Pain box going on preorder 7th November seems a safe bet.
Charleston
I wonder why there is no lube on preorder with the handle. I imagine a bundle of both could sell well. 2

Ogregut
Not surprised there isn't a preview for Warhammer day, I think they would have announced it when they announced the day. I wouldn't be surprised to have one however when broken realms goes on pre order, which hopfully will be the 7th.

Since I already have the current set, the only thing I "need" in the box is the rulebook, which I'm assuming will be out separately in due time. That means that unless it's under maybe $120 I'm not getting it, but I think if I didn't have the current game, I might pay up to $150. It'll be interesting to see if $200+ is the new standard going price for GW "starter" boxes.

It'll be interesting to see if $200+ is the new standard going price for GW "starter" boxes. I've had £60 (~$80) store credit at the local board game café which I accumulated during lockdown, so I'm hoping that will take the edge off the price for me however much it is, though given the extra stuff in the box this time out I won't be too surprised if it ends up being such a drink-spitting price point I end up bailing out. If it's the same as Catacombs they'll probably charge 110 in GBP, which, enh, OK. I haven't played tabletop BB since the 90s, contenting myself with squashing the lame AI of the PC game for an occasional fix, but there are a lot of minis I feel like painting in that new box. If I already had a previous set with human and orc teams I'd be in the same boat as you definitely
Ogregut
Bloodbowl teams are currently £26 The ogre and troll are £15 and £18 Star players and refs will be anything from £15 - £22.50 So at the top end £134 in models plus rules, pitch and all that jazz I wouldn't be surprised to see a £125 price tag. Overread
GW counts the pre-order date at the month that a product "goes on sale". So a November release means that its pre-order date will be any Saturday within November, even if the actual date it goes on retail sale ends up being in December. So the Morathi content could come on the 28th. That said since its the only big thing we are expecting in November I'd be surprised if they delayed it that long, instead I'd expect a release in the early to mid month slots. Interestingly whilst its a big release we don't have all that much else confirmed now. There's a few more bits here and there in the specialist games; there's those previews of 40K models for other factions that we've not yet seen and there's still a few Marine and Necron models that have been previewed but given no release date; or were part of Indomitus and are not sold outside of it.
JPjr
one small thing on releases in November, I fully expected Shadow & Pain and Broken Realms: Morathi to drop together but I did just remember that when the were previewed they said "The story of Shadow and Pain is also a prequel to the next big event to hit the Mortal Realms. Gods will rise, the aelves will march, and the realms will break…" Which whilst not necessarily the case could mean they come out a week or two apart...
