The Rumour Thread

Agreed, “generic battleline” is the operative term. The Rotmire Creed felt like a way to add a marauder-ish infantry unit to Maggotkin. Not sure Khorne or Tzeentch needed ‘filling out’ exactly for infantry but certainly the kruleboyz and CoS warband offer options that aren’t basic spearmen.

Askurgan Trueblades might not be battleline but they did provide a long wished-for vampire infantry unit.

Would be interesting to see what and Ossiarch warband would look like. They’re so regimented that it’s kind of hard to imagine…. An emissary retinue could be interesting but then they did that for WHU and it was regular Mortek guard. Maybe something feral and berzerkerish, building on the Ghurish beast-bone concept?

This could be the opportunity to introduce the long-speculated archers for OBR maybe? A skirmish type unit with some close-mid range shooting?

The current OBR archer from the warband suggest it just a variation of the Mortek guard but just with a bow

warcry warband are more design as specialist units, they tend to have varying weapon profile (both melee and range) depending on how they are kited out for warcry the game.

Even if they are battleline sometimes their roles are heavily specialized or gimmicky compare to regular AoS kit

Okay, correction: Universal battleline. I didn’t mean “Battleline comprised of generic units”, because I’m honestly hoping for them to showcase some of the weirder bone abominations abd experiments that the Ossiarch have mentioned in their battletome and that’s decidedly not generic. I just meant “Battleline units that are battleline regardless of General or subfaction”, although looking at recent warbands, it looks unlikely they’ll be battleline.

Having just looked at the semi recent kroot kill team that finger/thumb in the back does look pretty close to the layout of their hands and based on the overall size it belonging to some sort of kroot 'brute' type model or unit might be right on the money.

There's also been a couple other rumour engines with kroot elements so there's a possibility tau could be getting a wave of new kroot models with their codex next year.

I'd love this to be a new Krootox.

Today seems the most feasible day to see the new W+ minis, right? What would be your bet?

40k: Odds say some sort of Marine ofc, 99,9% Lieutenant, but I would say it is a cool looking Tyranid to be in line with Leviathan.

AoS: I think we will see a CoS Wizard from a different college than the one form the army box. Maybe a mage from Azyr?

I think an CoS mage is a possibility. Maybe Nighthaunt, GW really likes them. Maybe it will be a bigger model this time like a Mancrusher.

Don't think we'll see the models today, would have expected them yesterday but didn't happen and today is heresy Thursday with another epic reveal so also unlikely. I think next Monday or Wednesday is more likely.

40k: The first was a imperium assassin, the second a chaos world eater so a xenos tyranid as the third would make sense to me. Maybe another Tyranid Prime with a diorama base like the assassin?

AoS: Again first one was destruction, second chaos so I would expect order or death now, would be funny if its another fyreslayers foot hero

The peculiarities of the English language and the many different meanings of the word "funny", some of them quite contradictory.

By now Fyreslayers should just ditch the idea of troops and go full single foot heroes only.

Having seen a few "oops all Grimwrath Berzerker" lists played, single foot heroes can do work for them.

Just wish the fiery cousins got some more variety, would save a few grumblings and grudges.

I wonder if that email was a mistake.  Last year they  talked about year 2 shows on August 10th and revealed the minis on August 14th.

I was expecting something yesterday but since nothing was revealed, I think we'll have to wait until next week.

Could be possible, yes.

I know it is HH day, as it was mentioned above, but if the mail was right I don't see the minis being announced on a Friday nor a Weekend. Lets see if today is the lucky day.

I was only partially joking. Had been running multiple Grimrath and Doomseeker lists for fun since the second book came out.

The mail said that the models would be shown this week

I bought the Dawnbringers Fyreslayer box a few days ago and just got it delivered. It seems there was a mispackaging because there where two Grimhold Exiles inside. Wonder if that is a sign :D

Yeah, I'm saying that email may have contained a mistake. Wednesday is Warhammer plus day. To pass that day without a single mention of next year suggests that we wont see anything this week.

Considering how epic the Vindicare sniper was Id love to see something done in the same vein for AOS.

Think about it, we already have it 😅. It is the Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk, same concept but translated from 40k to AoS. And we even won an Ogor!

Some surprising news that may explain why things have been a little odd lately. Screenshot_20230803-235811.png.07d0bbe8ed63b973993e6248816daf75.png

I had definitely expected Legions Imperialis to be the next preorder. It looks like GW's warehouse changes might be causing them some problems.

We could see the cities box move up or everything might be delayed. It might also explain why the skaven are coming out now rather than in Autumn as planned.

Legion Imperialis is delayed, so I guess we can begin speculating what will fill the void.

It depends on if they move a release up or they can’t do it so then they just do light releases in AugusT

edit: maybe nothing fills the void to begin with

This delay announcement makes it understandable why Underworlds skavens are being released next week instead of autumn, and why august collectible coin (which probably should have been Legion Imperialis) has still not been announced on WarCo.

So it seems that the change of warehouses is still causing GW logistical problems... I'm starting to worry about COS army set.
