SilentSentinel
Well that's certainly the biggest tease we've gotten for Chorfs in a while, I'm keen to make them my first dwarf army in AoS (also my first dwarf army in general I think).

It is when the book drops for Cities when we should all get worried. Right now for 40k every book drop for a faction sees a lot of models get removed. Figure the same will happen with 4.0 with a lot of the older stuff being sent back to Old World. Only funny thing is that they have to get rid of everything right lol? There is no way that GW only takes away one of the remaining races and leave the other two....................... unless they think we are that stupid. Hell they already set up Dark Elves getting kicked out in the last book in the most ham-fisted way possible lol

I agree with worried rather than excited. If we see multiracial kits for CoS won't be this edition, I would say. So worried because it will take years until we see them back, if we see them back.

I say this time and time again i don't care for Disspossed or Darkling covens as a subfaction model faction but I do want is dwarfs and elves in CoS A cogsmith dwarf handling the steam tank/Cogfort like the short story, a elevn mage of the College arcanum that sort of thing. Make it unique then just Imperial guard flintlock edition

Asbestress
I was just watching the flip-through of the new Core Book, and something from the Cities section caught my eye (and got me too excited/hopeful again): Quote stuff about Freeguild and Devoted The Dispossessed reinforce the armies with clanking, piston legged cogforts and impenetrable shieldwalls, their natural ability in architecture vital for ensuring new strongpoints weather the unforgiving landscape. stuff about aelves There is no mention of Ironweld anywhere in on the 2 pages Cities got. I'm 100% biased here, but I'm thinking this means Dispossessed will be where we get heavy infantry (instead of a unit of Arch-Knights) and the cogfort, and they'll probably shift from "regular dwarf warriors" to "regular dwarf engineers" (lower tech than Kharadron, less refined medieval/renaissance steampunk vs almost sci-fi airships). And they finally have an official, written down reason to go on Dawnbringer Crusades, with them building the strongpoints when they reach their destination (probably in the Dawnbringers books already but I still don't have them ) Privateers and Darkling get the usual mention of making up the fleets of the cities (I don't think Darkling were ever mentioned as being part of the fleets before), so I still stand by my theory that if aelves stay in cities they'll be nautically themed. Yeah this looks like it's shaping up to be less of a humans/dwarfs/elves divide and more of a "regular military and cults" (humans), "big war machines" (dwarfs) and "navy" (elves). Would be a really nice throwback to really old Warhammer (like, 80s WFB, 1st to 3rd edition) where "sea elves" were a thing you could find all over the Old World. I'd really like a refresher of the CoS elves and dwarfs so they can stop being WFB leftovers but I think we'll have to wait a while before they finish the human part of Cities.

Whitefang Jr. did mention the cogfort, and now with it being tied to dwarfs (and them disappearing into TOW), I wouldn't think their time is too far away. ****** it, here comes CoS wishlist 5.0; Spoiler Dispossessed Cogfort Dispossessed Steam-Walker (Steam Tank replacement in terms of size)* Dispossessed Heavy Infantry Dispossessed Engineer Devoted Priest Devoted Flagellants Devoted Fanatics Freeguild Marshal on Big Mount Freeguild Bombardier-Major Collegiate Fire Mage Collegiate Life Mage BONUS: Terrain and Endless Spells *: I really want new Gyrocraft as a reference to Khazalid flying machines that were the precursor to Kharadron vehicles, but I'm not sure if GW want to have flying dwarfs in two factions. All Ironweld units cut, Ironweld Great Cannon keeps the name but gains Freeguild Keyword, all Fantasy dwarfs removed. Luminark/Hurricanum stays. Dark Elves stay until Malerion and get refreshed after that with a more unique nautical aesthetic (Dispossessed = Kharadron Lite, Cities Aelves = Idoneth Lite?). There are already heavy armoured dwarf warriors with CoS. So that concept is already taken. What they could do is make new mini's for them when the older ones go TOW. But I don't know if that is very likely.

GW said we would get an ironweld themed battle formation in the faction pack, and since they probably copyrighted the name "ironweld", I don't see it going anywhere. My opinion is that going forward dispossessed = ironweld, and you get your cogfort, great cannons crewed by humans and dwarfen shield walls fighting together. I prefer it that way, I like it when CoS lists allow for racemixing.
