The Rumour Thread

I don't feel like interest in TWW means much for GW sales. There's a huge difference between loading up a new campaign in a video game, and actually buying, building, painting and then playing a tabletop army, and I don't think many TWW will actually make that leap.

It does a lot for their royalties :D

I would wager that a lot of miniature tabletop players have Total War: Warhammer (1,2 or 3) in their Steam library.

We would all love to see a Total War: Age of Sigmar, so it does mean something. 😉

I think the Chaos Dwarfs faction in Total War was their most succesful DLC, with a very high peak of players.

Hopefully the new CD lean heavily to a Babylonia/Assyria aesthetic. Which could explain the C&D letter from GW to LKM.

The new Chaos Dwarf aesthetic is an Assyrian/Persian evolution similar that Conan did before. The ForgeWorld models were more chaotic.

Do you mean Conan the barbarian illustrated by Frank Frazetta ?

The Helcrown result reporting continues.

Quote

Once again the Skaven have struck the decisive blow, Warlocks chittering maniacally as they plunder the industrial Sabre District for new machineries to breach the walls of the Great Caldera and capture the realmgate within.

In the Splint, meanwhile, assassins slip through the night like liquid shadow, their warpstone-tainted blades finding the backs of the warriors defending the Acadamae Martial. With city diagrams and powerful relics stolen, a chain of warpstone bombs are detonated, and the frothing clan-warriors of Verminus pour in and overwhelm the defenders.

Outside the city, the battle is almost too close to call, as both sides struggle for supremacy. Despite a fierce assault by the forces of Chaos, Order has dug in and earned a bitter victory upon Mount Talari, pushing back the seething horde at great cost.

The Stormcast Eternals mark this narrowest of victories on the Gheistclay, a landmass of corpses piled high by the Khornate tribes only recently driven from this place by the Dawnbringers. In a lull in the fighting, they set about this unholy edifice with their hammers, and as they chant a mournful dirge of final rest, it begins to break apart. After one final, defiant surge by the spirits of those long-since murdered, these wailing souls are finally put to rest and all is quiet for a moment – though ominous fires rage upon the horizon.

There has been no confirmation on the removal of Underworlds and Warcry.

People have been panic exprolating from the legending of underworlds and warcry for AOS, despite that not meaning anything for those specialist games.

Warcry is not in peril. I don't understand the comparation of Warcry with Underworlds, they are completely different. Warcry is a support game of a main game and Underworlds is a standalone game.

What is the difference between inside et outside the city when we vote on the skavetide website?

Results for inside the city affects which faction gets shown off first and you need a skaventide box to do so.

Results for Outside the city are for those that don't have the box! Both affect the lore surrounding the area the campaign is based in 🙂

Any rumours regarding the next Warcry setting? Do you guys think that Hel Crown could be it after the Skaven victory?

Edit: Also, Gloomspite warband maybe sometime soon?

Inside. You only can vote with codes. Outside, everyone can spam votes for free.

Possible oopsie spotted in the new diorama video? Looks like reclusians might be getting options

FB_IMG_1722003141922.jpg

It gotta be from a kit from the follow up wave:

Lord Terminus con 1 Rememorador Skaventide

The axe is slightly different. I wonder if that kit has different memorians as well.

The next setting is rumoured to be inside Talaxis. We are one year away still from a drastic change like Hel Crown.

I personally think Hel Crown is the new location for Warcry 3.

I'm pretty sure that it's a conversion of the reclusian prime. The pose of the legs and the scrolls is the same. The axe haft looks longer because it's been cut and reset either side of a hand. The head of the axe is exactly the same as the prime. In the video they explicitly saying that they converted many of the miniatures.

That doesn't mean there won't be another reclusian kit, but I'd expect the weapons to be more different.

I think there's a high chance you might be right but I can't find that axe anywhere in the stormcast range, I had a wee look at the questor soulsworn since they are the only other new stormcast I can think of that have 2 handed axes but those have different designs

If it comes from something it has to be the Lord Terminos.

My point is if that the original Chorf aesthetic was so unappealing, then the TWW3 Chaos Dwarfs (which are pretty much based on the old 4E and the Legion of Azgorh designs) wouldn't be so popular. You can argue that video game players and tabletop players are completely seperate markets, but its not like they have completely different tastes in aesthetics.

2.5m video views is not a guarantee of anything though? I, like probably a ton of other older WHF fans, watched that trailer to see how Chorfs were digitized into TWW because they haven't had models since everything was metal. but I did not buy the DLC nor am I really interested in the faction.

I'd be more interested in them with a clockwork aesthetic than just straight Evil Babylonian/Assyrian, when regular duardin do not remotely have the same aesthetic. (tangentially: give duardin more aesthetics!!). Rarely are those aesthetics used in fantasy pastiche, and it's disappointing they only show up in Warhammer as evil factions.
