The Rumour Thread

the subfaction they show is a bit concerning from a list diversity perspective: it basically only buffs two units (fighty snakes and harpies) and one hero

EDIT: same for the other ones they hint at as they appear to be very focused on one type of unit (other than new-khailebron)

Well, DoK doesn't have that much to choose from...

You just have to ask retailers

Can confirm- At every LGS around here I’ve been to, the grand total of moved Old World models is 0. The scene around here is deader than the hopes of Kragnos be relevant during 3rd Edition.

I am curious to see what's the % of necromunda players among all warhammer players compared to the % of monday mini related to necromunda.

I have the feeling that nearly half of monday mini are from this game, it's sad

Depending on points, Daughters seem pretty pushed. Their warscrolls and abilities sure look strong, although the designer's commentary mentions they will be a lower numbers faction.

I don't like the design of Morathi. Shadow Queen hits hard but nothing more. Morathi-Khaine is a good wizard, but her spell is almost useless and we don't know the power of DoK Lore.

Fan fiction? It’s too late in the day, wdym?

Faction Focus I presume, as Malerion gets three name drops in the faction focus article.

Malerion mentions in underlined in bold:

Their matriarch is Morathi-Khaine – once the High Oracle of the Cult of Khaine, and now its living goddess. As an ancient sorceress and mother of Malerion the Shadow King, Morathi acted as a not-quite-divine member of Sigmar’s pantheon in the Age of Myth. Her alliance with the rest of the forces of Order has always been uneasy, but now that she has schemed her way into divinity, she is a more unknown quality than ever in the Hour of Ruin.

The Cult of Khaine has existed since the first days of the Age of Myth, but where once it was a pitiful congregation worshipping the shade of a dead god, under Morathi’s control it has bloomed across the Mortal Realms, with enclaves in almost every City of Sigmar. Its followers were nurtured by Morathi to serve as her power base, long before her ascension to godhood, operating from her territory within Ulgu, granted by her once-mortal son Malerion, now the divine master of the Realm of Shadow.

The Khainites express their devotion to their Bloody-handed God through gladiatorial duels that hone their combat skills to a razor’s edge, and a mastery of blood rituals and shadowy sorcery. When Tyrion, Teclis, and Malerion schemed to entrap Slaanesh and prise out the aelven souls in its belly, they turned to Morathi for aid.

Slaughter at Helcrown also looks to be AoS' version of the Battle for Oghram where the winner gets to see their new models first.

You will be able to participate in the Battle for Hel Crown in the weeks after the Skaventide box drops. Each set contains a leaflet with a QR code pointing you to a website where you can log your contribution to the battle. At the end of the battle, we will proclaim the winner – and fully reveal all the upcoming releases for the victorious faction.

I think that her "flavour" is that Morathi is split in 2 models. She has some synergies with her spell, Iron Heart of khaine, an strong melee profile and wizard (3) with her inner +1 to cast (only behind Nagash I think).

I've read some complains in other faction focus and Imho, it's 2nd and 3rd edition fault that we can't enjoy minimal warscrolls because we look for flashy abilities that are fluffy and still game-changing.

Well, its been nice knowing ya, Hel Crown, but there’s like, no universe in which the Skaven don’t take this.

Yeah, it has been her curse for some time.

Her "Max dmg per x" ability has so much potential the rest of her warscroll(s) and points are always underwhelming.

Basically she can never be usefull or she will be bonkers.

Having said that Wizzard 3(!) is something and potentially teleporting a melee monster into melee sounds quite potent.

Why sad? Necromunda is an awesome game and it kind of needs a bit of a boost to get some traction. It's a specialist game, so you won't ever see the kind of mass-hype for it like the core staples. Also, Hive Secundus is coming up, which is one of the only major things we know are on the horizon in addition to AOS 4th, of course.

And now, with the Hel Crown announcement, we know that we'll be seeing the second Stormcast/Skaven wave as part of that campaign, so yeah, the next few Mondays are probably Necromondays.
