It is really a pity , Dominion celebration was great with even new miniatures preview https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/07/03/warhammer-preview-online-dominion-celebration/

It could help to boost sales as well !

I think they ended up replacing that stream with the Hel Crown marketing event. I guess it must've worked well enough for Leviathan if they were willing to do it again with Skaventide.

This will culminate in the edition's version of Broken Realms with Nagash's full return and him defeating the Vermindoom (and rumours abound of reinforced OBR legions which we will see as 5th ed starters). After which he promptly becomes public enemy number 1 in 5th as he obviously wasn't doing it for the benefit of the Realms.

Green light reflects on the clouds. The smell of warpfire taints the wind. Chittering cackles carry over the field. Bodies lay still and bloody, where they are in one piece at all. Behind the walls of Hammerhal, the starving and desperate Sigmarites huddle together, clutching spear and shield, awaiting the next wave of rat-men and preparing for death. They will not survive another assault.

Bolts of lightning strike upwards from the front lines, and hope withers among the mortals, as a victorious screech sounds from everywhere and nowhere. They feel the surge of motion as the vile abominations charge towards their walls, great war machines sparking and preparing to shoot their burning ammunition into the sky.

A sudden hush falls over Aqshy, as the green light above the horizon shifts, and streaks of purple cut through the warpfire. A cold wind rushes from behind them, carrying the scent of dust and something sickly sweet, putrid fruit and blood.

The Skaven falter, a moment’s hesitation, their cowardly hearts and survival instincts warning them of a shifting balance.

Something stirs between them and the city walls. A cool fire sparks across the battlefield, and spectral forms rise from the ground, faces raised to the sky in worshipful serenity.

The corpses shudder, and slowly rise to their feet, grabbing their broken and discarded weapons once again, and a groaning choir sings a lamentation, their own funeral dirge.

Howls join the chorus, and large dog-like forms are seen flitting from rise to rise. The chittering of rats is joined by the wing beats of innumerable bats, and something large, another and another, can be seen flying above them.

From the north and south skeletal figures march in lockstep, silently taking position to flank the rat-men’s vast host with one that nearly matches their numbers. Streaks of crimson burst from the sky and land on Hammerhal’s parapets, pale, gruesome nobility grinning down, fangs shining in the moonlight that suddenly breaks through the cloud cover.

Behind them, a figure rises, more shadow than form, yet so much greater than the ghasts who heralded His arrival.

An impassive skeletal grin is all they see as the wind intensifies, and the purple light drowns out the green of their warp stone.

Inside the minds of all who witness him, the voice of Nagash reminds them of the inevitable.

”All souls… are MINE!”

The huddled last of Hammerhal bow their heads, welcoming death once again.

Lord Celestant confirmed lore wise or miniature wise?

Also, that pic looks cool! What are those helmeted stormcasts? They have Ruination icons, so maybe a tease of a new mini?!

There memorians (a little better dress but that one is defintly the helmet)

That's how Saturdays look like. The only article (unless there's a reveal stream) is always about the current preorder. No GW game gets "new edition celebration" articles on release day, why AoS should be different?

why wouldn't they celebrate all their game releases is the better question. seems like a real missed opportunity

As much as I would love to see OBR in the editon launch…. I highly doubt it. All sculpts are brand new and the army doesn’t have much to add to it that would need the massive model addition a launch consists of.

I know I’ve seen rumors of a more mortal human death faction but not not sure how legit that it. If they were to use an exsisting death faction my guess would be Soulblight as there is so much more they could expand upon/re-do.

oh btw @KingBrodd reading the Ogre section of the Core rulebook

The Gutbusters are the dominate population of the ogres with Beastclaw being the "uncommon" subculture

Gutbuster are characterize as the blackpowder ogres always lugging around cannons and blackpowder weaponry while Beastclaw raiders are all about riding giant woolly beast

Vermindoom has caused many new mercenary demand among the ogres however the continuous consumption of rat meat began to tire & the rats stripping the land anything else has gotten them to decide that they must be dealt with if they want to continue their gluttonous lifestyle

off from the corerule book it seem like they sticking with the Gutbuster and if they are to do a refresh it bee more inline with the old ogres that we know of

As a thunderbellies player, I am disappointed but not enough to matter, and unsurprised otherwise. Gutbusters have easily the most dated ogre sculpts, and BCR hold up really well.

I still want a mournfang hero.

Mortek Archers

3 Man Heavy Cavalry

Soulspitter Ballistae

Actual skirmishers

Necrotitans

Chalcadons

Expansion of the Thorac caste

More specialist constructs

Whatever the Mortek Liege is (Liege-Hekatos, I think)

Liege-Immortis, Aviarch Spymasters, Mortisan Executioners.

There’s still plenty of stuff you can do with them.

I think this edition narrative supplements will be more frequent, if we base ourselves on 40k.

I sure hope so Ive always felt we needed Lore updates throughout the Edition rather than just at the end.

We are always saying the same. This X army is complete. We cannot add anything else to it, and it is always the opposite. We can expand any army in whichever way we want. Even SCE.

To paraphrase Walt Disney... "your army will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."

Valrak is said he expecting today that their going to announce a preview show for next week

not  AOS related so i put on spoilers for what he saying about the 40k rumor section as some of it does have some AOS implications

Spoiler
  • They're going to show off the new Kill-team season call Hivestorm it going to be Vespid Stingwing vs Imperial Tempestus Scions & new terrain
  • Agents of Imperium the three boxes---->Deathwatch being squatted maybe roll into the xeno inquisition maybe
  • Agents of imperium is going to have three boxes for each ordo: Heritcus, Malleus & Xeno with a new Inquisitor Torquemada Coteaz and there is an unreliable rumor that comes with new assassins
  • The Demon of Chaos codex is getting squatted as their going to go down the AOS route of each chaos faction having their demon with their marines

Don't remember where but some on confirm that today is the TOW dwarfs

Seems reasonable.

Really hope the entire show isn't just 4 40k kits and a Kill Team box though.
Probably too early for TOW and Warcry news since those aren't even out yet, but something for Underworlds would be nice. Or more Necromunda Malstrain stuff. I'd even take Bloodbowl.

Despite they have a lot of heroes they really miss a praetorian foot hero like this one .
