The Rumour Thread

Recommended Posts

It could be Valkia but equally it could be a new character associated with one of the armies of legend. Kiknik Toofsnatcha, the wolf riding special character from the O&G arcane journal, didn’t get a mini. Could be something like that.

After all those mini previews ( Blood Angeles , Middlearth, ToW and Kill team on Saturday) I am starting to think the Nova will be more “ mortal realms” centric preview with:

SCE full reveal

Warcry new season

Underworlds fate

plus Blood bowl new edition as per @Nezzhil rumours

You're fine as long as you stick to the recent kits. Warriors, chosen, knights, theridons, the exalted hero, the Karkadrak, the mounted lord, the myrmidon, Abraxia and Eternus are all here to stay. Same is true of the Darkoath, although there's a minute possibility they calve off into a separate faction in the future (I doubt it, personally).

That's actually most of the range! The lord on foot, sorcerer, chariot and warshrine are the things I'd be wary of. Maybe furies, too.

Yeah I was going to go for the spearhead set, mainly because of the saving. The spearhead features the foot lord and chariot. Certainly the sorcerer would have been a purchase.

I'll just wait and see what happens.

Unironically, the best minis they unveiled so far are the LOTR ones. They were really generous with the amount of kits released (for what is a specialist game) and they all have great poses and show great coherency with the artistic direction of the wider range and the beloved PJ movies. The BA reveals have had its ups and downs, we still don't know about KT but Scions are boring I want Elysians instead, ToW is ToW...

If think you're right about Nova. 40k should be quiet for a while after BA, according to Valrak the next release is Guard in the medium term future and Votann, Eldar waiting in the wings... I would love it for AoS4 to really get the ball rolling fast because in AoS3 we had to slog through 18 months of rapid fire BTs with only a generic foot hero except for NH and Sylvaneth while 40k had Eldar, Votann, Guard, World Eaters, and HH. I really expect a roadmap at Nova ! And with 40k taking a break it would be really cool if the space was filled with cool AoS releases.

I would imagine so too.

They have to balance things out with a hig preview like this, so I imagine it will be mostly AOS, with the new KT edition and most likely a reveal of the next few 40k codexes.

Hopefully a teaser for High Elves as the next release for TOW.

Or the new WoC minis? They said no new minis with this wave, but maybe there's another one later with new WoC minis.

I think the updated Black Templars are the best ones yet, but I rate the new Sanguinary Guard atleast as good as the Dark Angels Inner Circle Companions.

The new Sanguinary guard are a solid improvement compared with their older kit. GW will sell loads of it. I fear that the BA armybox set will sell out on pre-order day.

Edit: The only thing that bugs me is that it is now a set of only 3 mini's. In the same way as the DA Inner Circle Companions.

I wish I could see it. I think they look awful.

Look Actual Chorfs!!!

Too bad they're coming out for The Old World. Then again....do we have a single substantiated rumor that they're' actually coming out FOR AoS? and not just another Old World faction reboot?

Whitefang confirmed to us they are coming. We don't know how they will look. Maybe this is coming to ToW because they won't have something too close.

Alright the last few days were AWESOME. First of all :

DOOOOM

INCREDIBLE RATS 😍 Vizzik Scour and Globadiers are 100%, but the Archwarlock is easily 110%, being a mix between Ikit Claw segmented armour and the classic warplock engineer desgin (posing) ❤️  Worthy mention for the Master Moulder too.

Then, Kill Team : Scions vs VESPIDS this Saturday, great news. I hope they Warcryize KT. Also happy for LOTR fans, the Angmar stuff looks nice. Meaning Nova will be Warcry, Underworlds (hopefully) and at last RUINATION CHAMBER ! (Cool for BloodBowl too if they get something).

Last but not least : Warriors Of Chaos for TOW (and Empire Manor under 100 euros) ! YEAH

(TBF, a bit sad not to get ZERO new models and no Forsaken - even if I still have 20 of them unassembled...)

BRING. IT. ON.

In addition to what Ejecutor said about Whitefang's confirmation, there's also been various teases in the 4th edition core book.

Of course, this could always be a Malerion-situation where they're acknowledged as present, but combined with Whitefang's statement and things like the Horns of Hashut team in Warcry (who's lore is literally "they're the guys sent ahead of the actual Chaos Duardin") things are looking good.

BTW why are people so salty with the new chonky Sanguinary Guard ? They are the only BA new releases I kinda dig (yeah I liked "fatcasts" though). I like GW tried to differentiate the death masks from our SCE.

The design of primaris space marines have stripping details and design cue from legion cues to make them more "streamline" across the board. Essentially they're selling the same faction with glorify upgrade sprews that does take advantage of the theme of the faction

The old ones has big chunck feather wings, scriptures carved into the armor, sculpted pecs, angel wings on pauldrons and weapons ect.

image.png.e3d1c16c544e504d78a2e55c148a59fd.png

The new ones are strip down of that to fit the generic jumpack painted gold and one unique head they're too safe. They're not Angel marines at first glace they're jumpack with a strange helm

image.png.39359962eaf02cd19f3777be53507ea6.png

The new Prosecutors are the opposite direction they got various iconography of the angelos conclave, the angle wings show their divinity but it end with flames as tho they deteriorating and combusting, Greco-roman helms with spikes to show a level of ferocity but also martial prowess

image.png.5d9af8a667ff77e618a0b700fe87d571.png

They are angel stormcast in aesthetic and detail

YMMV on this one because for some folks, the first image represents some of the worst excesses of OTT 5th/6th ed bling and space marine minis being encrusted with layers of chunky oversized chapter-specific junk. It’s the same as the particularly bad turn Space Wolves took, just not quite as cringey.

Moreover it breaks any sense of visual hierarchy: all these dudes (and even the basic death company tbh) were more ornamented than Dante.

By contrast the heresy minis and the better primaris stuff represented a return to actually being able to see the armour and having generally more subtle detail through restraint. That was partially down to a deliberate reset on the part of Jes Goodwin and co but also improvements in plastic sculpting that meant details could be finer, so you wouldn’t have someone bearing a trinket bigger than their head. Similarly, the chapter specific stuff could be toned down somewhat and made a characterful flavouring than an overpowering sauce.

With that said, yep, the stormcast prosecutors and a lot of recent AoS sculpts are fairly blowing 40k out of the water. Just for creativity, something like Vizzik is going to win out over “here’s some marines but modernised”.

Im sorry but when the different chapter are different faction meaning they have to look different enough to justify it  so the chapter-specific junk need to be there to ensure that people who are playing Blood angels feel like they playing an army of vampire/berserker/angel marines.

the new Dante manges to do it with them incorporating all the old detail from the scripture, the angel wing iconography and roman crown into the model while keeping his distinction as the lord of the Sanguinary guard with his distinct helm, halo & jumpack

CDN media

even something like the prosecutor i mention there a level of toning it down but still keeping the detail and aesthetic of the main appeal of the faction

drowning in detail is an issue, not saying it isn't, but they went to the extreme in the other end. Like take this one edit the color to be blue and ask anyone what chapter he in do you think people will say blood angels or Ultramarines?

image.png.73e1e6521ea443f8708a2d730f8249e5.png

they're no "more subtle detail through restraint" because they've is no restraint with it there is no detail that make it Blood angel a Blood angel it just now  a Space marine with an extra head now and painted gold which isn't the appeal that made it the reason why there x-# of space marine faction. It homogenized and doesn't stand out compared to everything else

but that enough of space marine out me for now

So after WoC ToW preview , STD seem to be in pole position to be one of the first BT to be released after Skaven and Stormcast.

My bet is

November release

New chaos lord on foot and new chaos sorcerer

Chaos lord/sorcerer on Manticore moved to legends and TOW only

New spearhead / battleforce

This is a pretty big step in the right direction! Very happy to see that.

Weirdly enough, they always do this in white dwarf. They shared the names of the sculptors of the leviathan box set too and sometimes do interviews with designers of major releases. In most of these articles, they share the full name of the designers.
