Stormcast were expected for pre-order on the 28th. At least several weeks ago when I got the info. This year things has changed way more often than you'd think. Skaventide was initially scheduled two weeks earlier, which was changed around a month before (at least that's when the news started spreading in various retail departments, so I guess the decision had been made earlier).

In January, Flesh-eater Courts and Dawnbringers IV were initially scheduled for the last weekend of the month and eventually went on pre-order mid-February (if my memory serves me well).

Some changes regarding USPs (like model of the month or coin of the month) are made at the very last moment. For example, the neurogants at the beginning of the year: they had to be shipped to stores within a two-week timeframe, because there was some kind of an issue with previously planned model of the month.

Sometimes stores even get promotional items that were bound for release during a certain month and have to keep them for severally months, because there was a change of some kind. As I said previously, free Chaos Warriors that should be announced tomorrow, had been originally planned for January 2023. I have no idea why these things happen, but they do indeed.

If I remember correctly, the past warhammer day minis have been available to buy online. 

I do agree with you however, it's a glorious mini and a shame it will only be available for a short time.

Sad it is Slaves in the end... but at least they have a replacement now. Imo this means we will see a regular one with the BT, as this cannot be the only purchasable option. But it would be weird receiving two versions around the same time.

remember that this was the case with kruleboyz swampcalla shaman. One mini locked in big boxes and another one an event exclusive.

It has to. You cannot limit the S2D playerbase to buy a mini with a short purchase window.

But it is a different scenario. Having minis locked inside big boxes isn't new. Having a mini unpurchasable at all is what would happen with the S2D if they don't release a regular chaos sorcerer apart from the event one.

they can still surprise us with a new sorcerer, but if they don't renew it, you can still get the old one in ToW section. If you want squigs for ToW you have to get them in the AoS section... little weird things are going to happen and I think we don't have to read too much into it.

Khagra warband can be the Sorcerer on foot like the Plague Priest on foot is the Plague Warband

It could be read as BA closing the year. So maybe this is the last big thing for 40k until 2025, but I find it weird. I think we will see the Krieg army box.

Mibyllor is my favourite Slaves to Darkness Sorcerer but it's kind of funny that Slaves have now had 3 absolutely fantastic sorcerer models and all of them have been released in either side games or as limited edition models

From your list it looks like the last weeks of the year after blood angels will be: stormcast, middle earth box, mixed specialist with admech, Christmas boxes and slaves to darkness with campaign book. That leaves 4 weeks unaccounted for before Christmas. One of those will almost  certainly be underworlds. The big question is whether we get a surprise 40 box set.  We could also see the second kill team box before Christmas.  I’m not expecting more than the slaves to darkness spearhead and a single character mini. I guess we could be getting some minis or terrain to go with the campaign book. That would certainly be a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, the AoS/Old World split is a bit odd at times. There are spots where its pretty soft and some others where the split is hard. The Sorcerer/Lord can be a soft split.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I've just noticed the Untamed Beasts, Iron Golems, Darkoath Savagers and Cypher Lords are all missing from the Warcry section. Hopefully it's just a brief blip before a repackage but still a little worrying.
