MyGeekyPersona
A couple of quick updates - the Slaanesh reveals as part of the lead up to the AoS2 release inspired me to finish a couple of projects which must have been sat in my hobby queue (of shame) for about a year. These two will be added to my mark of Slaanesh chaos warriors with halberds and shields. MGP
Rhivan
These look fantastic! I'm really enjoying your chaos conversions. The Elven ones, and the new Slaanesh Stormcast are my favorite.
MyGeekyPersona
@Rhivan thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! I’ve been working on a couple of other conversions for my mark of Slaanesh chaos warrior unit. First is based on the dark Eldar scourge kit. I’ve tried to give this model an old realm of chaos vibe by adding male and female symbols, a faced cod piece, choosing a body with studded armour and converting the mini to have one breast. I know that chaos warriors don’t have wings in the AoS ruleset, but I’m keen to have as much variety in height and appearance in the unit as possible. Second, a much quicker kitbash based on a new deepkin mini. I love the armour on these, and it reminds me of some of the artwork in the classic Slaves to Darkness book. Comments welcome. MyGeekyPersona
As well as working on models, I’ve also been working on themed lists. My my current thinking is a force led by a Mortal Slaanesh Lord commanding 36 other mortals over 6 units and a Keeper of Secrets / Daemon Prince with 6 chariot-mounted daemonettes as an escort. Something like- Lord of Slaanesh on daemonic mount Keeper of Secrets Herald on exalted seeker chariot Herald on seeker chariot Chaos Sorcerer Lord Mark of Slaanesh Chaos Lord Mark of Slaanesh 5 Hellstriders 5 Hellstriders 5 Chaos knights Mark of Slaanesh 15 Chaos warriors Mark of Slaanesh 1 Chaos Chariot Mark of Slaanesh 1 Chaos Chariot Mark of Slaanesh This is just rough as the points are bound to change and I guess a new KoS model is in the works (probably with increased points), but as things stand in AoS1 this comes in at well under 2000 points. Also buying / building / converting / painting this smallish number of models should be achievable, even for me in a couple of years. Luke82
Great stuff in here. I’m always reading the Realm of Chaos books and have tried to use the grim, muted style for my Nurgle army. Your work has got me inspired to add a lot more unique, converted models to the horde.
AGPO
I'm just so happy to see this thread back!
MyGeekyPersona
@AGPO glad that you like what I’m up to. I just wish I could update it more frequently, but these conversions are time consuming, and I only get 5, or 6 evenings a month to hobby these days @Luke82 if you like a bit of Nurgle, you might like this guy - a Blightking converted from a few bits, plenty of putty and a real shell. I made this guy a while ago and posted him on Twitter, but not here. In my opinion, this is my most accomplished conversion to date. I was planning on making a whole unit of “nautical Nurgle” Blightkings, but I’ve lost my enthusiasm for Nurgle now that Marauders have to be fielded in units of 20+, as this has scuppered my army plans. I’m sure that I’ll revisit this idea one day though, and make a themed unit to acompany Gutrot Spume into battle (from the side of the board!). Luke82
That’s a great model mate. Is that a genestealer claw I see there? I never considered putting some ‘stealer bits in with my Nurgle.

Kronos
Very cool conversions.
MyGeekyPersona
@Kronos thanks. I can’t hold a candle to your work, but one day I hope to be able to tackle some epic scale conversions like your own. @Luke82 the claw is from the genestealer acolyte kit - it’s definitely worth having a look through the genestealer range for kitbash ideas. @Swooper the crest is from the Dire Avenger exarch, you just need to cut a little from the bottom and then it fits pretty well - see the closeup Speaking of helmets, here’s a work in progress of a bull headed helmet for a Slaanesh chaos lord that I’m working on. The used to be quite a few bovine elements in the classic Slaanesh imagery and I’m hoping to incorporate some of that in my own force. MyGeekyPersona
And here’s the finished mark of Slaanesh chaos lord. Quite pleased with how he turned out in the end. This conversion was a bit of an experiment. I assume that push fit minis will become more prevalent in the future, so I wanted to see how easy/hard it was to convert them. It turns out that it’s more difficult than I hoped, but a lot depends on how the model is fitted together. I certainly plan on trying to convert a few more in the near future. elfhead
Loving your work, especially the slaanesh creations. I don’t see many painted models though, why is that?

Martsb
Whoa whoa whoa ! I just discover this topic and I love what are you doing !! This crab BlightKing is 🤩 !! I want to steal your ideas but I do not think that I will be able to do the same. I want to see what that will done painted. Keep going mate, great job. MyGeekyPersona
@elfhead @Luke82 @Martsb - thanks for the kind feedback. It’s good to know that fellow hobbyists rate my work. There’s a few reasons why I haven’t painted any of these up yet. Mostly, it’s due to my not having a permanent hobby set up, and I find it easier to have a mobile “conversion / kit bash station” than a painting one. I also much, much prefer building and converting to painting - it exercises the creative part of my brain more. @Martsb- please go ahead and steal some of my ideas, I’d love to see where other hobbyists take these conversions. If you like the crab blightking here is a work in progress of another of my “nautical Nurgle” models. I actually started him before the crab conversion, but I got frustrated when his mast/banner pole snapped and put the mini aside for quite a long while. Comments welcome. Kisufisu
Very cool stuff, especially the nautical nurgle dudes. I've been working on a nautical nurgle mortals army for a few months now myself, and I gotta say it is completely thanks to you and that crab-dude! MyGeekyPersona
Hi All, wow, just realised that it's been more than a year since I've updated my thread. It's been a busy year with work, and I haven't really had any hobby mojo since the new Slaanesh book came out - not really anything in there for mortal-heavy armies sadly. Anyway, the new slaves to darkness book has got me excited about the hobby again. I'm almost finished converting up a couple of new nautical Nurgle figures, and here's the only figure that I've completed in the last year - the icon bearer for my plague fleet blightkings. Comments welcome. MGP 2
