I wonder, if like with Silver Tower, a little speculation can be done off the back of the heroes. Maybe they've chosen them as these represent the direction of the factions yet to come up: Duardin are allegedly getting this Steamhead stuff - would fit with cogsmith. Then we've had this vague rumour about Deep one worshiping Dark Aelves, that matches up with the Dreadfleet Ark Master, so perhaps the High Aelves are going slightly oriental/martial in styling to give them a fresh style?

Well it is still a rumor but I can see the logic in this.

  2. Oh yeah hastings just posted this on war of sigmar comments. If this is true I mean now that I think about it Malerion aka Malekith does kinda look lovecraft esque.

BTW Bob have you guys heard anything about the slightly Cthulu/Deep One elves (Aelves) due out later this year? (After Steamheads, which I think are next - oh and there's chat of some skaven stuff too iirc)

  3. New post from warhammer community.

    https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/02/19/closer-look-the-city/

It's a closer look at the city.

We first saw the Free Cities of Sigmar emerge during the Season of War campaign last summer. Sigmar’s forces won decisive victories across the realms, and as a result, the the cities of the Free People were able to grow in the regions recently cleared of Chaos forces. We’re now a bit further down the timeline of the Age of Sigmar, and we find ourselves in perhaps the greatest of all Order’s new bastions: the twin-tailed city of Hammerhal.

Why Twin-tailed? Because it sits on a Realmgate connecting the two realms of verdant Ghyran and ash-choked Aqshy. Lava from the Realm of Fire pours constantly through the rift, burning away the ever-regrowing forest in the Life-bound half of the city and keeping the flora from overgrowing the city limits. As you can already see – this is a far more unusual and fantastical city than even the most bizarre from the World That Was.

This was one of the first cities to be established in the realms, at a vital trading point and strategic location, so it has grown to be one of the largest. The sprawl of the city can be seen best in the maps that are included in the Warhammer Quest: Shadows over Hammerhal Adventure Book.

There is a great map of Hammerhal Aqsha (the half of the city in the Realm of Fire) and a close up inset of the Cinderfall District within it. Cinderfall is where much of the above-ground action in the game takes place (the city is so big, we explore just a tiny fraction of it in this adventure).

Also in this book, and accompanying the thirty pages describing the quest’s backstory, are numerous illustrations of the city. These range from grand Sigmarite cathedrals to warrens of houses and dwellings among great statues of the God-King and his celestial champions. Many of these images are reminiscent of cities from the Old World, but with a more expansive, grander and fantastical aspect that sets them firmly within the Mortal Realms.

Rather than full replenishment, perhaps D6 models. Full replenishment could be a bit silly if you lost 9 models and then regenned them back up to full strength. It also fits better for units larger than ten.

Yup, if I recall tomb kings already have a similar spell for their units that would solve so many problems with Death right now.

Yeah basically that part is the bit that sounds all too familiar. Everyone has been wanting morathi slaanesh cult for ages so I can't tell if source is as much of a fan as everyone else and hoping that's the form the release takes, or whether they had any special knowledge about the actual release details. No clue on this part

Funny enough in the godless short story the slaaneshi warband in ulgu were in a place where they could possibly contact slaanesh shadow and suddenly they were attacked by seraphon

I'll cry if it doesn't happen lol. I guess gw can do things in whatever order they like though in the end.

I have a few more things from the same source. I didn't include them as I think they might be pure speculation on their part. Having said that I don't know.

So the above, assume that I have every reason to believe is correct.

The below, take with a big pinch of salt:

    - Morathi to have own slaanesh-style faction.

    - More generic model update for slaanesh, like 'vanilla' slaanesh (as in not some other elfy or anything else mix)

Those two I think they were just speculating on, but I couldn't be sure.

So I guess if this rumor follow's through mortahi elves might be akin to the tzaangor's for disciples of tzeentch a slaves to darkness slaanesh army with the elves speed sounds fun. :D

Reason I'm confident in this one is because every time we meet I'm like "slaanesh???", and they're like "don't know".

Finally, after countless times asking, I got a lowered voice "summer", with the other associated info I put in the post above.

Still no guarantees I guess. Nothing is certain, but it's the best rumor I've got.

I hope this is true slaanesh is my favourite chaos god and one of the armies I am currently doing until GW feels like actually doing Death.

I was one of the authors of the Tome of Excess for FFG. We had a writing brief that made a big point of this.  We were told that sexytime was only a slice of the whole, and that we should include much, much more than just that when describing Slaanesh and his/her predalictions.

Since FFG was taking their direction from GW, it's safe to say that whatever GW had in mind for this will go far beyond just T&A.

That was one of my favourite tomes problem is the group I was in kept going for the sex angle and assumed my character was the same.

The DoT book mentions Tzeentch knows what happened however, and may have even assisted/orchestrated it.

Tzeentch did orchestrate it he did it in order to break the aelf gods from the pantheon. I recommend for people to read the slaanesh short story godless.

I am absolutely fine with Saaneshi Elves under Morathi, as long as mortal human warrior followers remain a thing and there are Slaangor in the mix as well.

Though I have to question the certainty with which Slaanesh is stated to be in Uglu. Malerion captured Slaanesh in collaboration with Tyrion, couldn't Slaanesh be held in Hysh just as well? Or even somewhere else entirely? You are not exactly hiding something when you just take it to your homebase.

Nope going by the fluff is ulgu. All the followers are congregating there and the short story takes place in ulgu. Also if you want to hide something ulgu is the best place. Since Malerion has powers that can even block the sight of tzeentch.

It's how sigmar made the stormcast without tzeentch knowing about it even tzeentch does not know where slaanesh is kept. Going by the short story of course hence why I believe the grand spell he is weaving is to reveal the location.

I wonder if we'll see a similar release format for slaanesh as we have did tzeentch. Human followers, Elves standing in for the tzaangors, and then demons. That way they could stick to the pattern of mortal and demon, and the new aelves when working out allegiances and such.

Yup I was just thinking that might be the case if the rumour is true.

I think we might be more likely to see a split. One part of the dark elves still in order with the now remade malakith/Malerion as their god/king, and the other part now dedicated to slaanesh with a remade morathi as the leader.

This is what I expect to happen shadowkin are most likely are going to be the faction fighting them. While the slaanshi elves will be together with the humans as ,Morathi as their rallying leader. If the rumour is true.

  13. Still as with all rumors you take it with a grain of salt I am going to entertain it as possibly true. Now when AOS came out we all remember this image right? I mean white dwarf hinted where did the dark prince go? Then gave us this image.

    1fc6af06a1871ed1462990d3f5d857cc.jpg

Now that symbol to me looks like a headdress of sorts and they note that slaanesh throne is empty and slaanesh is being held in Ulgu. There is also another certain character who is also in Ulgu with Malerion and it's noted when he found her she was "changed". Now do recall the rumor said some elves will be joining slaanesh and who was the head of the cult of pleasure in whfb? During the end times slaanesh spirited her away for unknown purposes before Malerion found her again. Now that symbol looks kinda similar to her headdress.

Also in the slaanesh short story the slaaneshi warband entertain the idea that possibly slaanesh allowed itself to be captured. Now possibly Morathi may become slaanesh or join with slaanesh or most likely will be an important figure in the storyline.

Speaking as a slaanesh fan, slaanesh has too much baggage with the fanbase most people who are aware of fluff know that slaanesh is not really about sex. Yet people always think of that when it comes to slaanesh Personally I see this as GW's opportunity to redefine slaanesh and take some of the dark eldar's angle on excess and it's honestly easier to market. I could be wrong but that's just my theory.

  14. Guys relax think about it they get a update now with a new updated version of the current tomes like sylvaneth, tzeentch etc. After this they most likely won't get another update this year or the next. To me this seems like GW just wants to get them out of the way and hopefully this may cause more variance in storm cast armies which I feel is a plus.

Hell I am mainly a death player, so honestly people chill.

"YOU! YES, YOU! Do you wish to ride... THIS MAJESTIC CHICKEN?????????"

Living around Stormcast has to be a bit much, sometimes.

Honestly humans have taken to riding giant birds and having half dog and bird creatures as pets.
