I really like direction they took with box set. I wasn't sold with Lumineth but this box might change my mind if the price is right. Expect more than just combined prices of start collecting, battletome and accessories.
As for the Giants... I don't like where they mention sth like "even some new giants". The right ratio is 90% new models, 10% old. They sound exactly opposite.

compare jewels, bones and runes. Ossiarch Bonereapers.
-
OBR Warband 100%. I'm currently painting an army of them.

Ontop of that we can make the bold, but pretty reliable assumption that there will be at least a Vampire Battletome for Death and perhaps one more Destruction army as well.
It was probably said earlier but also chaos dwarfs are mentioned in Ossiarch Bonereapers battletome. Just don't ask me to look for it.

Which is another completely bizarre decision. Why on earth would you allow a big game studio to make Warhammer Total War at the same time as you decided to kill the Old World. And then followed it up with Warhammer Total War 2.
Why on earth would you not push the new Mortal Realms setting for these games?
In reality, the games would be nearly identical, but with different maps, unit/character names etc.... functionally they'd play the same way.Well, I was greatly interested in Total War: Warhammer back then and can tell you this: it was "AoS hate era". Sadly I even remember when a guy from gaming news site asked some workers at Creative Assembly in an interview if their game will include some AoS elements. The answear was more or less something like: "hell no. we have several guys at the studio who play tabletop Warhammer and none of them even thinks of touching AoS!". Reporter concluded that this is fantastic news.
Later on after the game was released I joined a Total War: Warhammer forum. From time to time AoS case was mentioned and I was the only defender of AoS. Hatred was great even in those that never played tabletop Warhammer but were fans of Black Library f.e.
I guess we still need to wait for an AAA video game title. AoS brand needs to be settled in everybody mind as the True Warhammer. I'd guess that still majority of people that associate "Warhammer" still haven't heard of AoS. No big video developer will risk investing hundreds of millions $ into a risky brand.
If I were GW I'd delicately force each licensee to put at least one element of AoS in their Warhammer productions. Like a free DLC for Total War: Warhammer with Stormcast Eternals faction. It doesn't matter it's against the lore and setting. Just make them cool and playable. They need to broaden AoS awareness among consumers or we will wait like 10 years for AoS to become recognizable and attractive for video game devs.

What will you choose for artefacts etc?
I'm open to suggestions. Only sure about forced artifact on general and Last word on Ironclad.

I need your advice guys. I haven't played a game as Kharadron Overlords yet I already have 1x Battleforce, 1x Start Collecting, 1x Aether-war and 1xIronclad. I'm sure I wan't to play as Barak-Zilfin - KO were always Skyships for me. I have a list but I see it ain't gonna work and need your help.

Wounds: 86Before you rip my list I'd just say what I want on the table and why.I want the army to be defenitely shooting and Barak-Zilfin. Ironclad for sure. As I said Kharadrons are Ships for me and defenitely want the biggest one in my army. I had the idea to pack it with 15 Thunderers with rifle, and accompany it with 2x3Endrinriggers and try to kill my opponent's centerpiece first round using aethergold on Ironclad or at least make it half-dead.I was thinking of two Gunhaulers to have mobile artilleries. What doesn't work is the lack of bodies to hold objectives. 10 Arkanauts are not enough (if only I had 10 more points to spare I'd take another Company). I'm thinking to either take 10 Thunderers instead of 15 or to resign from one Gunhauler and take one more Arkanaut Company. I'm also not sure if two only two heroes are a good idea. Endrinmaster is a must, cause I want to run Endrinriggers as my battleline. Navigator probably too, to have at least 1 guy to mess with opponent's magic.EDIT:Is that better?SpoilerAllegiance: Kharadron Overlords

Yes, this one. The person in the back looks more humanoid to me than sphinx-like Teclis mount but maybe I am mistaken after all.

No it's not. See the face just under "LAS VEGAS OPEN 2020". That's Tyrion. Compare his horns and fin with those seen in the big picture. He's been cut out from it. I remember I've seen it with both of them. Somebody at GW relised they haven't yet shown us Tyrion's model so they don't show his artwork anymore. Remember to click that "Thanks" button when I turn out to be right.
-
No. I clearly remember an image with Teclis in the front and Tyrion in the back. Why can't I find it? I didn't make it up.
Edit:
I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theory but here it is but it has been reduced:
I am pretty sure I saw more of the character in the back. At least a face. It was signed under it it was Tyrion and Teclis.
EDIT 2:
Yup. You can see him here:
But there for sure was an image only with them two (the first picture I posted, without Tyrion cut out)
-
We already had an image of Tyrion at w-c.com. Humanoid body with wings and large horns forming moon-shape.

Which two 24" range weapons are best choices for Endrinriggers?

If it helps the site, I don't mind these adds.

"Divide to better rule" seems to be the new mojo for GW. They don't wan't soup in new armies, clearly separating armies by theme, identity and range. Making the customer who want this unit and that monster inclined to buy both armies. I hate this. And I'm happy that GW had to make soup battletomes to finish 2.0 in a hurry (DoT, StD, LoN, Nurgle, Skaven...): those BT are simply the best and my fav.
I hate soup battletomes. It's like "throw everything you are left with into a pot and check if it is eatable". Lack of taste for me.
To me a perfect situation would be when armies differ so much from each other in terms of design that it would feel like a crime to mix them together. So that just by seeing a single model you would already be able to tell that units story and his allegiance.
I own several armies now (most still in boxes...) and each and every is build up to 2k only by units from that army. To give them their own identity. I also try to paint and base them as much different as possible from each one another.

Are you serious: for me it is one of the most beatiful range in AoS. And it doesn't show its age. And you you know what? Skeletons can't age! 😉
But I agree that LoN need an update, ideally with some decor/ES and even a new unit (example: a catapult like or some archers....)
If I were to guess I'd say the more Death factions we receive the less often will LoN be updated. With AoS promoting strictly themed armies, LoN might be too generic at some point. We already have ghouls (FEC), ghosts (Nighthaunt) and skielies (OBR). When/If GW adds a vampire specific faction LoN will have not much to offer in terms of identity.

Oddly enough, I think that's what bothers me about them. Lol!
I've come to expect so much crazy from AoS, that these guys feel sort of 'meh' to me.
Have a similar feeling. On the other hand we've just seen some battleline that is oridnary. The small hero cool and Teclis is great as other god-like models. I look forward to medium or heavy infrantry - that's where usually factions show their identity like Kurnoth Hunters, Endrinriggers or Necropolis Stalkers. If you ask me I think some aerial units would fit their aesthetics.

My guess is Teclis in game will be more on Allarielle level and just below Nagash, Teclis is big time sure, but Nagash he is not. That is good news though as the point tag around the 500 level makes for more interesting armies than those 800+ models.
I also prefer tag around 400-500 points so there is still room for other big models in a 2k army. On the other hand I would like to see someone who makes Nagash rattle his bone ass.

question to all those who fear there will be no Model updates for the existing armies in 2020: What else do you think they’ll do this year? 2.0 Battletomes are complete. Will they wriggle their thumps for the rest of the year? Or start 10 completely new armies? I don’t think so.
Not all battletomes are truly 2.0. I can only speak for Nighthaunt battletome which I own and it lacks all those clans/legions/skyports mechanic that was started by Idoneth Deepkin battletome if I remember correctly. So same goes for Stormcasts, Nurgle and some other 1.5 battletomes I guess.
As for the Teclis I wonder what rules he gets and how strong he is. Is he Nagash level mage? What is his cost? More 500 or 800 points?

Whitefang was right telling us they are a lot like classic High Elves. To be honest now Lumineth are the most "normal" release in AoS. They seem more human than Stormcasts Eternal. Models of infrantry are great and I really appreciate they didn't recycle old minis from High Elves into them.
Same goes for cavalery. Horses? I mean like normal horses, not elves riding goats, squids or caterpillars? Fine by me.
With the hollow armor I'm already thinking how to install small led light inside so he is even more Light Aelf.
Teclis model is great and a huge mount with terrain was a neccesity unless GW made him giant. A god can't be on a base that 100 point heroes are on, can he?
And his face is alright. It's a face of far-east Asian male you RACIST MONSTERS!

Want to see:
New models.
Don't want to see:
Old models.
Especially as a battleline. Simple as that. I just hope that CoS battletome set things with all the pre-AoS models and from that point we will only get brand new armies like Idoneth Deepkin or Kharadron Overlords.

Few questions:
1. If I run Barak-Zilfin do I have to take Admiral in my army? If I don't have an Admiral can I make any other hero my general and give him a different trait?
2. If I run Barak-Zilfin and have both Admiral and let's say Endrinmaster with Dirigible Suit can I make Endinmaster with Dirigible Suit my general and give him a different trait?
3. Ability: Magnificent Skyvessels: You can choose 1 extra Skyvessel in your army to have a great endrinwork. - Does this mean I get 1 artifact for free? (the second great endrinwork?)

I just hope giants are bigger than Treelords. Don't expect Imperial Knight size but their name needs to have a reason.
