  1. See generic/boring models fans are on the rise.

First of all I'm glad we are not having a recycled style faction like DoK, where 50% of models are 10 years old. Was really afraid we will be forced to buy dozens of Skeleton Warriors like in the case of Gloomspite Gitz with Stabbas.

Few people argued that Skeletons are just perfectly fine and should stay. C'mon, it's just silly when you compare new vs old (the other sculpts aren't much better)

    Nova-Aug29-AoS-Models3grd.jpg.1895db3184d6708bbc154f242e8fbe51.jpg99120207008_SkeletonWarriors5modelsNEW01.jpg.9ee7741e07507dad62f8fd3f1edd8308.jpg

Even if they are not the same faction - it's not a gap in terms of quality. It's an abyss.

I really dislike funny models in AoS (looking at you Nurgle). These guys however are not. These smiling skeletons look like madmen. Far from silly nurglings or horticulus. Army full of elite crazy oriental skeleton deathcast? Count me in.

Also, in my opinion Warhammer had problems with skeleton horses. Now we have skellies riding sort of rhino, sabretooth and God knows what else. A joy to watch and paint. And those samurai-like riders... Great.

    Caterpillar-skelleton-contstruct catapult? Masterpiece.

As for the big boss of Ossiarch Bonereapers maybe it's good that we have one static Behemoth. He seems to be more of a tactician rather than Bloodthirster type of character and I assume we will see more of support warcsroll with command abilities and magic instead of damage dealing machine.

I'm defenitely buying that stuff. Silly thing it will be my 8th AoS army but hell, who needs sanity? Good job GW.

  2. I don't believe in removing Seraphon. No way. It's GW's original concept. They won't do it. It's like trashing Skaven.

Don't believe in icluding more Dark Elf units in DoK. If they wanted it, they would have already done so.

I don't see a Stormcast vs Ironjawz box coming. There are no new units for Stormcasts lately and it is more likely Ironjawz (if at all) will be paired with something fresh.

Someone from GW already mentioned that they are thinking of expanding KO.

StD won't get a battletome this year. It's too crowded.

This rumour is so unlikely I don't believe in any of it.

You do recall the two weeks pre order for Warcry and the week after that right? We'd only just had those releases and then it swapped over to 40K and then after these marines it will likely swap back to AoS once again.

Yeah, I'd just rather they kept chronological order. This way I have the impression as if those AoS premieres were least important.

Do you think there's a chance that Archaon will become a Chaos god himself?

Yeah. I think that at some point in the future we will either see a storyline focusing on war between Archaon vs Chaos god(s) or that one of the gods will be weakend in a way and Archaon will take his place (or be the 6th Chaos god). It's either that or pushing him back from the story as carrying on the pattern "and he invaded the mortal realms ones again..." is too boring.

  5. Not worth it.

If those minis were selling good GW would never remove them. That's why they are being removed OR REPLACED (we don't know that yet) by fresh versions matching new direction of certain army. I's not the end of the word if Glade Guard will be replaced by Kurnothi archers. Same goes for Light and Shadow Aelves and maybe every other army that is suffering from unit removal.

What I'm loving is not making people uncertain of their collections or leaving them behind. I'm loving that GW is not lazy with introducing old armies the new way. In my opinion they were with DoK where there was 50% old minis vs 50% new. This time around I expect that Wanderers, Light and Shadow Aelves will be more like 20% old vs 80% new. Making those armies fresh, up to date.

However GW should have given far more time for people who wanted to comlete their collections with current minis. Like 6 months of time.

Theres the Orruk issue that has been here for months now.

    "Ironjawz are the biggest Orruks"

    "Bonesplitterz are the crazy Orruks"

    Ok so....whats a normal Orruk?

They are not making normal Orruks the same reason you don't see peasant minis for Stormcasts. They are no longer attractive for this setup. That's the direction AoS took. Every AoS army needs a strong theme and unique units. At least that's what we are observing.

I was going to reply in a certain way but it's not worth the ban.

This is way beyond the worst case scenario I had in mind.

My intention is not to make any of you angry. I'm sure most of said armies have a future. Whether only with new rules or a complete rework. People can't expect that a company will produce the very same products forever. It's natural that you fade out oldones to introduce new products. GW had poor communication on this, true. It's like being upset that you can no longer buy PlayStation 2 when there is PS4 now. It's natural to think that Sony will stop producing PS3 and that you will see fewer gamesbeing released on PS4 when they introduce PS5.

  8. I'm now making some enemies here but got to be honest - I LOVE that last move of GW. Seriously. I know some of you feel let down but on the other hand, how long have those minis been available to buy? 10 years? It's no surprise that products disappear and are replaced by newer ones. You had lot of time to have joy with those minis. Some factions might be abandoned which might make you sad or angry. If I were to guess - Free Peoples and Dispossessed. Some will be reimagined or updated which imho is great. I'm thinking all the elves. Your minis had their time and still can give joy. As your collection and in games. Maybe only tournaments will be a no go. Maybe you will actually like where GW is taking your army.

  9. One thing bothers me. Because Kurnothi are in a box to start 3 season... I mean they wouldn't throw one-time "brand" into a box that is supposed to sell well. At least better than solo warband boxes. That's why they had put Stormcasts in every bigger box (thankfully they stopped lately). On the other hand I wonder if they don't target the same group that already owns Sylvaneth which was updated just now. Maybe if Kurnothi will be shooting army. I don't mind similarities and will happily own both Sylvaneth and Kurnothi.

I think you can have both Worlds. DoK got that mix just right with the old and new.

Mixed wanderers and kurnothi can work the same way imo. Same can be said for all the 3 old elven races.  You end up pleasing your fanbase AND attract new customers at the same time.

Yes and no, depending on the person. I was on the fence with DoK. I bought the battleforce box because I really liked new models. Two months later I sold that box when I realised I really don't want to paint loads of witch elves which I don't like and they usually are backbone of DoK armies. Same can happen to me with other mixes of old and new. And I can already tell you I don't want old Wanderers minis (mostly). That's even stronger for High Elves.

  11. Kurnothi are all AoS is about. They bring tradition onto new level. No more generic dwarfs - Fyreslayers and Kharadrons. No more traditional wood elves - Kurnothi. Making them more feral and beast-like is far more interesting. Would love to have a whole army of them.

Well, you better ask the StD people, they don't even have a book.

If we talk unacceptable we start here.

My friend has an army of them. He doesn't play them anymore. I understand your point. He is waiting for a battletome. I'm pretty sure one day you will get that.

  13. I've just checked old tomb kings models and to be honest if they were AoS they'd still be one of the best designed and looking armies. Only basic troops skeletons and cavalery look old and I would like them to be replaced. Necrosphinx is just epic. Other units like tomb guard or those snakes are awesome.
