If you won games solely on how much damage you do, you’d have a point, but thats not what wins games. Capturing objectives wins games.

Are you having fun with your May & Might Friend? Cause I don't want to disturb you.

By guessing and making assumptions you have no ground to make, you suggest I'm a bad tactician and create an image of a person that doesn't exist. Just because I didn't write 10 paragrafs about cooking and my tactics in detail doesn't mean I don't understand the basics.

From what your saying you see the combat phase as being the only way to win games.

No. I did not say that. Nor I gave reasons to draw such a conclusion.

Don't picture me as a brute beefcake guy. I chose Sylvaneth for a reason.I understand what playstyle is expected from that army by design. My points were clearly referring just to usefulness of certain units.

I'm sure you have played more games than I did in AoS and that you have more experience. Your tournament history is sufficient proof. Although I still believe that both, KHwBows and Tree-Revenants can have better rules and/or stats. Simply better rules for what they are designed. Thay are not balanced well enough to perform the roles they are designed to. That was my whole point from the beginning. Not that Sylvaneth don't need ranged units or teleporting units for objective capturing. I will say it one more time: they are not good enough to perform that. In my opinion.

What would I change? For both KHwB and TR change the To Hit to 3+. Or give KHwB 3 attacks instead of 2 as people guessed when GW published the warscroll picture of them on w-c.com Or maybe give TR 2dmg for normal troops and 3dmg for Scion so that they could stand a chance to actually kill something tougher than skinny wizard. Make it a commando unit. Not a "run & die" unit they are. You can think otherwise, that's completely fine. I believe those two units need a boost. Someday we even might see one officially.

It’s comments like these I don’t get. Well, I get them, but I wholeheartedly blame the internet for them. Because I guarantee you neither of you have taken the time to sit down and make other playstyles/units work.

    You are wrong.

It's not about malice or grumbling. I've played tons of games that require strategy and tactic. Whenever you have to decide between units that work most of the time (Scythes/Swords, dryads) vs units that need special conditions, opportunities, supports, additional steps, in most cases it tuns out that if you don't want to gumble, you should take the first solution.

Now count how much damage will you provide with Kurnoth Hunters with Swords for the same points as Bows. Go ahead. Show your math. And yes, make a second equation for fighting versus heroes. 😀

With Tree-Revenants the thing is, that if you do not face totally careless player that leaves VP unguarded or with 1 skinny wizard they are close to useless. Whenever I face my AoS sparring partner, my Tree-Revenants are being obliterated. I win most of games, it's not my lack of skill. It's their survivability on one end and their poor dmg outcome on the other. First to die, last to kill sth. It could've been easily fixed. Instead we have a unit that is usefull, unless your opponent will attack it. Which he will.

There is no need for holding hands and comforting each other. Sometimes GW does a good job with rules, sometimes it doesn't If it did always we wouldn't need general's handbooks and erratas, would we? I'd rather tell what is on my mind so maybe, just maybe, my voice is heard, and next time they will make things right. I'm not oracle or all-knowing but if you keep hearing the same thing over and over again that TR suck, maybe consider that something must be going on.

It's a shame to see Kurnoths with greatbows staying at 200, but maybe with re-roll 1s from a Arch Revenant and some other new things, they could see a return.

A bad unit that starts to work with other unit's buff is still a bad unit. Instead of hoping that KHwBows will work with AR I'd rather take KHwScythes, boost them with AR and have a guaranteed killing machines. I don't think 'other' battletome's features will make bows any better (same with Tree-Revenants). If it's artifact or a batallion then it takes a slot you would use for boosting already better units like dryads and KHwSandS. I might sound bitter but I'm really disappointed they don't fix the very obvious things people keep complaining about. Instead they had probably focused on Wyldwoods and Allegiance which was ALREADY great (hope at least they don't break them).

There's photos from the looncurse box floating around showing the points.

The Arch-Revenant is 100pts, everything else is the same. Hunters (at least the bow variant) are 200, Tree-Revs are 80/420

    60108808_2233913256677979_48149688907213

Bow Hunters and Tree-Revenants almost officially useless. ☺️ Why would I bother when I can use much better Swords and Scythes or Dryads? I start to wonder shouldn't I regret ordering Looncurse. I did it mostly for Gloomspite side but still...

I've just bee nshown a picture in which there is the Worm-Spite AND a huge broken old Oak for the new Sylvaneth! Including a new Battletome with the new Hero on the cover!

Do you know something more? Any new units coming?

I'm in the same boat as you right now but hey, the news can only get better from here, right?

It's disturbing Wyldwoods disappeared from Tree-Revenants' warscroll. We'd better wait what they did to those. I'm not if I would accept swapping Wyldwoods mechanic for some other piece of terrain.

I am concerned about the revenants, but no need to get negative before anything has even been revealed...

We already know waypipes are better.

I guess we either trust in the whole warscroll or none of it.

It weren't the skills that needed boost but stats. What good comes from them moving around tge battlefield if they are close to useless in combat? Poor save, 1 wound, 4 to hit. I don't buy their function as moving walls. They should be a commando unit. Fragile but deadly. If they weren't needed for Gnarlwood I would never take them for the fight.

  8. If this is all they had corrected about Tree-Revenants then epic fail GW. Unit that dies first, kills nothing. Who writes these rules? Cleaning ladies at GW? It was the only unit that really needed help in Sylvaneth forces. Beyond disappointment.

    Nice looking stuff

I'm not really into ancient Egypt vibe for AoS and never were for Warhammer to be honest but if I paint this scenery grey it should match my Sigmarite Mausoleum pieces and be more medieval in reception. Also there is a mention about this scenery to come from Ulgu. Shadow Aelves are coming.

Think their gonna ve new rules for the tree revenants? Assuming Sylvaneth Battletome will be up next.

If there is one Sylvaneth unit I wish them to fix, it's the Tree-Revenant. It's not durable, nor does it hit hard. It dies as soon as it reaches combat. It jas great skills and they can keep it fragile but increase its dmg to 2 per model or fix its to hit and to wound.

As for the box - I already have 10 TR and don't think I need more but I always welcome more Kurnoth Hunters (have 9). New hero for Sylvaneth looks cool. Not super cool but I will add him gladly to my force of killer trees.

I was already interested in Gloomspite Gitz especially in the squig models so this is just perfect. I'm gonna pre-order the box. It would be even better if it came together with a new Sylvaneth battletome release.

We got rules for the Infernal Enwrapturess in the Wrath and Rapture. In fact barring Flesh Eaters and Skaven all the duel boxes have added models without a Battletome/codex release.

Dual boxes introducing new models were soon followed by battletomes in matter of weeks. Just not sure if all of them were.

  12. 3 hours ago, Overread said:

They don't need to release a new book to release a new model - heck they are already saying new rules for the 40K side of these models are going in the boxes as opposed to in a new demons book for them.

I'd be happy to see that for AoS. Still waiting for precedent. It would help a lot to make quick updates when needed or to fill the gaps f.e. to give a wizard model to factions that have none or one since magic is crucial in age of endless spells.

I'd like to reserve judgement until we are absolutely certain there isn't going to be more releases in the coming weeks.

The battletome is up for preorder. There is absolutely zero chance there is another one prepared just for Slaanesh Mortals coming in the next few weeks.

There is very little chance we'll be seeing another Slaanesh battletome in like 2-3 years.

Nah. What's scary is that people think free speech (the idea that you cannot generally be imprisoned for expressing yourself) means that we have a right to say whatever we want in a privately owned forum even after we agreed to the terms the owner set forth, thus allowing us into his or her forum..

The point of a forum is that people can share their opinions. It's not a forum  when only some opinions are allowed and others are forbidden.

And free speech is a well fitting term here. We've already had a discussion where not popular believes were beaing punished while the contradictory were left untouched. It's happening everywhere, not only here.

In other news, now I'm even more confident we'll be seing Aelves at the Warhammer Fest in May rather than Darkoath due to how fast was this Slaanesh release and we shouldn't expect Big Slaanesh Campaign. It's seems logic that they'll bring an adversary to Slaanesh in form of Tyrion/Teclis or Malerion rather than next Chaos release in form of Slaves to Darkness/ Darkoath. And we are not expecting any other rumoured big release right?

Check your outrage and whether it is really warranted - it really doesn't look good to others and may scare newcomers off from playing the game.

What's really scary is this no free speech, no criticism policy. Creating a bubble of mutual admiration society which hides its problems rather than work them out together just in case somebody may feel sorry.

You know instead of wallowing and focusing on what wasn't in the release, people should embrace the joy of what they did get. Leads to a much healthier life and outlook.

I believe right the opposite. If we keep our points to ourselves GW won't know our expectations and won't do better next time. The more they hear from us now, the bigger the chances we see mortal Slaanesh in the future. Communication is the key, even if it is harsh sometimes.

😂😂😂 not sure why people keep saying this - gw confirmed at the seminar that not all the models were shown in the reveals vid/pics. Far from guarantees mortals or slaangors however, could just be referring to a named kos and herald for example.

    Want to add something?

I was expecting that. Slaanesh treated as a second-quality chaos god as always. IMHO Khorne, Tzeentch and Nurgle had way better releases.

  18. I'm starting to think that we will see Malerion Aelves at the seminar since it seems that Slaanesh is "not a big deal" everybody was expecting, with his great event similar to Soul Wars and stuff. Just a "next army release" and if that's all they had to show with Slaanesh at the last preview - a weak release compared to 3 other chaos gods. It may turn out that Malerion will be the star of AoS 2019, like Idoneth and Kharadrons were of the previous years.

  19. @Nos To be honest I'm already used to "new year, new stormcast" policy as others probably are, yet it still irritates me every time I see BoC/Skaven/Fyreslayer/yet to be announced/ treatment. From the official GW online store, not going into details: Fyreslayers have 12 items, Stormcasts have 57. Ridiculous. Most people would be happy with 1-2 new units for Fyreslayers. Just that. Just that little effort. In the end we might be seeing new yet unrevealed hero as it was (wasn't it?) with Khorne and if that's the case - why would they wait with that instead show it at Adepticon?
